Set in the tree-lined hillside of McCrae, abutting the Arthur’s Seat reserve, this holiday home is perched beautifully to capitalize on the magnificent Port Phillip Bay views. The site presented significant design challenges including the highest Bushfire Attack Level of FZ (Flame Zone) and a steep 15m incline with 5m fall across the building footprint. This resulted in a lengthy Town Planning and CFA approval process.
The Steep Slope and Vegetation Added to the Challenge. The dramatic rise of the terrain, significant vegetation and overall height limitations represent a significant design challenge. Our design team created a fantastic design solution that fulfils the client brief, within budget and maximizes the site’s attributes.
This project was awarded the 2016 HIA Eastern Victoria Custom Home up to $500,000 award.
