The clients brief centred on creating a home that felt effortless to live in and welcoming to gather within. Entertaining family and friends was an important part of how the clients envisioned the home functioning day to day, while low-maintenance living remained essential for their busy lifestyle.
The clients were drawn to the restrained materiality and coastal palette of Latitude 37’s Sanctuary display home, using it as a reference point for the atmosphere they hoped to achieve. They wanted the home to feel open and airy, while still offering privacy and a strong sense of retreat from surrounding neighbours.
The design was shaped by a contemporary coastal sensibility grounded in restraint rather than trend. Neutral tones, tactile materials, and clean lines establish a sense of openness, while timber detailing and textured brickwork bring warmth and depth to the overall composition.
Connection between indoors and outdoors became a defining element of the home. The alfresco space, positioned beneath a circular skylight above the outdoor fireplace, creates a natural focal point for gathering and entertaining. Throughout the home, openness and light are balanced with moments of privacy and retreat, allowing the spaces to feel both expansive and settled.
The project was shaped through a collaborative and highly considered design process, allowing the clients to draw inspiration from Latitude 37’s Sanctuary display home while tailoring the outcome to suit their own lifestyle and routines. Every decision was guided by how the home would feel to live in over time, functional, welcoming and easy to inhabit.
By integrating design, interiors, and construction within one accountable team, the design intent remained consistent from concept through delivery. The result is a home that feels personal and resolved, reflecting both the clients’ vision and the discipline required to bring it to life with clarity and care.
