With three growing children, two energetic dogs and a busy daily rhythm, creating a home that could carry them into the next chapter of life was a clear goal for Templestowe Lower resident Jennifer and her family.

Working closely with the Latitude 37 team, including Designer Steve Wyatt, Jennifer played a hands-on role in bringing a colourful and sophisticated vision to life across three carefully considered levels.
“Jen had some really strong ideas regarding colour and some concepts and spaces that she wanted to create,” Steve explains. “Then, it was about taking that away and unpacking how that could all work together to give the home harmony.”
“We have so many aspects of our home that reflect our personality and our lifestyles from the fantastic, huge kitchen through to the fireplaces and the different ways we can use the spaces. This home is absolutely a reflection of the type of people we are.”

The home’s entry opens into a quiet, grounded foyer where concrete and timber details set the tone.
Layout is both intuitive and flexible. A bar and cellar connect seamlessly to the pool and alfresco area. The upper floor gives the children their own retreat, while the master suite offers light, views and a sense of calm. A muted colour scheme and layered natural textures keep the focus on simplicity, comfort and ease.
“One of my favourite design features is the beautiful colour palette that has been designed in right from the outset. Having the lovely dark modern tones on the exterior, through to the beautiful, big windows and doors bringing light in, means that the entire place is bathed in natural light.”

Every element of the home has been shaped around functionality and family living. A lift adds ease and accessibility, a flexible front room functions as both home office and guest suite, and a dedicated hobby space downstairs displays an extensive collection of memorabilia. Outdoors, generous landscaping gives the family’s dogs space to roam freely.

“We were finding it overwhelming to look at different kinds of builders and interior designers, so it appealed to us that Latitude 37 provided a full in-house offering,” says Jennifer.
“From the designers through to the interior support and project management, it gave us that full end-to-end journey that we could share together.”
